Performing from an early age, Paige Banovz is no stranger to the stage. Ms. Banovz, a Chicago native, earned both her Bachelors of Music and Masters of Music in Vocal Performance & Literature at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign under the tutelage of Yvonne Gonzales-Redman and Sylvia Stone. In 2019, she was the recipient of the J.D. Schlanger Memorial Opera Award.
Most recently, Ms. Banovz made her Wagnerian debut as Freia in Das Rheingold with Luke Housner’s Summer Opera Workshop. Other role highlights include Foreign Princess in Rusalka (LAHSOW), Female Chorus in The Rape of Lucretia (Lyric Theatre @ Illinois) under the baton of Julie Gunn, Mother in Hansel and Gretel (LTI), and Giannetta in L’elisir d’amore (LTI) under the baton of Eric Weimer.
Ms. Banovz spent three summers in Tuscany with the Scuola Italia Program for Opera Singers where she worked alongside acclaimed musicians from around the world. She performed in scenes from Don Giovanni (Donna Anna), Le nozze di Figaro (La Contessa), Così fan tutte (Fiordiligi), La Cenerentola (Clorinda), La Traviata (Violetta), Lucia di Lammermoor (Lucia) and Falstaff (Alice). While in Italy, Ms. Banovz sung in masterclasses for William Matteuzzi, Donald George, Betty Garcés, and June Card.
Paige currently studies with Alexandra Loutsion.
